Grandmother of Juneteenth

When Opal Lee was 12 years old her family home was burned down by a white mob at 12 years old. That planted the seed to become an advocate for civil rights.  What inspires me most about Opal’s  story is that some of her greatest contributions happened in her late 80s and 90s.  It’s never too late to make a difference!

It’s a reminder that purpose doesn’t expire. We are never too old to learn, grow, serve, advocate, or create positive change.

Whether your next step is large or small, perhaps Opal Lee’s story invites us to keep showing up for what matters.  Learn more about the “Grandmother of Juneteenth.”
