What has blossomed in your life that you haven’t taken time to celebrate?

The Strawberry Full Moon offers a beautiful opportunity to slow down and reflect. Rather than focusing on what’s next, it invites you to notice what’s already blossoming in your life, express gratitude for your growth, and gently release what no longer serves you.

The Strawberry Full Moon gets its name from the short strawberry harvest in June, not because it possesses a reddish or pink hue. For many Indigenous peoples of North America, it marked a season of abundance and the rewards of months of growth.

Nature has always been one of our greatest teachers. Just as strawberries don’t ripen overnight, neither does personal growth. Your experiences, challenges, relationships, and daily choices have all been quietly shaping who you are.

A Full Moon Practice: Appreciate What Is

Instead of asking for more, what if you paused to appreciate how far you’ve already come?

Ponder this:

  • ✨ What already feels like enough?
  • 🍓 What has blossomed in your life that you have neglected to acknowledge or celebrate?
  • 🌿 What weeds are you ready to prune to make space for new growth and abundance?

A Simple Strawberry Full Moon Ritual

1. Breathe

Sit comfortably and take 10 slow, mindful breaths.

  • Allow your nervous system to settle.
  • Notice your body.
  • Notice your breath.
  • Notice this moment.

2. Reflect

Spend a few minutes journaling.

Write down three things you’re grateful for:

  1. One thing you’re proud of that you haven’t celebrated.
  2. One habit, thought, or belief you’re ready to release.
  3. One intention you’ll carry into the next lunar cycle.

3. Practice Letting Go

If it feels meaningful to you, write what you’re ready to release on a small piece of paper.

In a safe place, carefully burn the paper and watch it turn to ash as a symbolic reminder of letting go.

As you do, repeat:

“I release my attachment to what no longer serves me.

I make space for peace, growth, and new possibilities.”

Then take one final deep breath.

  • Step outside if you can.
  • Look up at the moon.
  • Simply breathe.

The Moon Invites You to Notice and Listen

The moon doesn’t ask you to be more than you are. It simply invites you to notice who you’ve become.

Every month, the full moon invites you to pause and remember that the light of self-awareness can illuminate your path, even in the darkest moments. Whether you can see the moon or not, it’s still there, just like your inner wisdom, which is already within you.

Create time and space to be still and get quiet.  Then, just be.

Listen, but, don’t try to listen.

A few tips if you are new to mindfulness and meditating…

“But, I Don’t Know HOW to Notice and Listen”

Yes, I know that can be confusing, especially if you are new to meditating.

I still remember when I tried to meditate for the first time and I struggled, mentally and physically.  Having the teacher say “Just be.  Awaken your inner witness.  Notice and observe.  Sit still. Relax.”  Those directives just made me angry!  LOL  It was so hard for me.  So, if you find it challenging, you are not alone.

Do you have thoughts like this during meditation?

  • “I’m listening but, I don’t hear anything!”  “
  • Am I doing this right?”
  • “I can’t stop thinking about ___.”
  • “If I don’t hear a message, am I doing it wrong?”

Even experienced meditators can have thoughts that sound like noise and chatter.

“How to make them stop?”

The answer is: You don’t.  In meditation we actually are not trying to STOP the thoughts.  Instead, we are practicing noticing our thoughts and PRACTICING not reacting to them.  And, again, if this feels challenging, you are not alone.

Whenever you have these thoughts, witness them by repeating to yourself what you experiencing.  Just like a commentator of a sporting event, notice what you are noticing, like this:

  • “I notice I am frustrated about not hearing anything.”
  • “I notice I am questioning if I am doing this right.”
  • “I notice I am thinking about ice cream.”
  • “I notice I am judging myself about being bad at meditation.”

How does it feel when you notice yourself noticing?

The Reminder to Celebrate Your Journey

This is your invitation to see the good and give yourself permission to celebrate.

Under the halo of this Strawberry Full Moon, you are not asked to ignore what seems challenging right now, it is a reminder to also notice if you have forgotten to celebrate and acknowledge the good, the tiny victories, your joys.

Observe wherever you are on your journey. The valleys, the peaks, and all the in-between moments.  They all belong.

“Celebrate each moment” or “Count your blessings” can sound like toxic positivity or spiritual bypassing.  AND, yet, if you tend towards toxic negativity or struggle to find any positivity in your life, training your mindset to see more good in your life may be just what you need.  For example, if someone who exercises so much they are chronically injured, they could probably use the suggestion to take time off to rest and recover.  Whereas someone with a sedentary lifestyle could benefit from adding a daily walk to their routine.

Notice your present state of mind and choose practices which lead you towards homeostasis, balance, and harmony…whatever that means for you.

A 30-Day Challenge

If you struggle to see and celebrate the good in your life, consider this daily challenge:

  • Every morning, think of three things you appreciate (eg. your life, yourself, a situation, someone else)
  • Every evening, think of three things you are grateful for (eg. something that happened that day, your life, yourself , etc.)
